![]() I'd guess Anyrail would be as easy as Scarm to learn and it might be worth trying both but since I came across and liked Scarm first, like John says, I'm unlikely to change. Choosing a measurement system Specifying a work area size View drawing scale Track Libraries. I just needed a way of putting together proprietary track including gradients and Scarm does that really well for me. ![]() I see on the Anyrail site screenshots of populated sculpted landscapes too and although it appears to have predefined scenery items including signals in its library, it's the trackplan itself I'm interested in and the rest I can visualise or add with a pencil when it's printed. Although one can render buildings, landscapes and other objects, I find that a bit of a chore. Just start the helix on one plan for the upper baseboard and keep the same position for the lower on the lower baseboard. As a user of earlier Anyrail versions I very much doubt Anyrail can cope with curves on gradients full stop. Scarm came along and I've found it suits my needs. I'm not at all sure you can get a 180 degree turn on a helix with set track. When these turnouts are set to diverge from straight (ThrownOpen) the Switch Position indicates '1'. ![]() After import to TrainPlayer V8.0, all 'straight' turnouts indicate Switch Position '0' when the line of travel is straight through the turnout (Closed). Although it was a bit over my head I'd like to give it another crack one day. My layout is an import from Anyrail 6.37, based on the N Scale Fast Tracks Minimum Length Track Library. ![]() Templot is a powerful bit of software particularly for planning handlaid prototypical track but I didn't persevere with it long enough to appreciate its strengths. I tried it but wasn't fond of it though I can't remember why. There was an Atlas one which isn't available anymore. I've tried 3 but that doesn't include Anyrail unfortunately. ![]()
